Good Teeth Start With Good Habits
Children’s dental isn’t just about fixing problems, it’s about preventing them. Regular check-ups catch issues when they’re small, simple, and cheap to fix. Leave them, and they grow into bigger, more painful, and more expensive treatments down the track.
More importantly, a positive first experience at the dentist sets your child up for a lifetime of good oral health. That’s why our team takes extra time to make kids feel safe, comfortable, and even a bit entertained.
What Happens at Your Child’s Visit?
Full examination of teeth, gums, and mouth development. X-rays and photos when suitable so you can see exactly what we see. Gentle, thorough cleaning. A clear plan for any issues, explained to you in plain language, no pressure. For ages 0–5, appointments start at $99. Ages 6–15 are $139. Ages 16+ are $179 (or $199 for initial visits including OPG and treatment plan). However, they might be free under the Medicare CDDBS scheme.
A Dentist Kids Actually Like Visiting
Our team includes staff who are wonderful with children of all ages; patient, calm, and genuinely warm. Kids can watch Netflix on ceiling-mounted TVs or choose their own music. We explain everything in a way children understand, building trust instead of fear.
And parents love our transparency: prices are published online, so there are no surprises at checkout.
FAQ’s
When should we first take our child to the dentist? The best time to take your child is when their first teeth come through. This is normally around 6-12mths. It’s likely a ride on the chair, but the sooner your child gets comfortable at the dentist, the better off they’ll be in the long term.
Should we use Fluoride for our children? The latest research shows it’s best to use adult toothpaste for your children, BUT, just a small amount (small pea sized amount). The benefits outweigh any potential issues of F swallowing.
Does my child need orthodontics? It depends. Orthodontics is mainly for straightening crooked teeth, but can be benefical for narrow arches and sleep related breathing disorders. Every 12 mths your child will get a an ortho review with the dentist to determine whether intervention is helpful.
At what age do I stop helping brush my child’s teeth? Later then you think. Aim for around 8-9 years of age. Children get holes in their teeth easier then adults; this makes it important to help them brush until they are comprehensive with their cleaning (twice a day!). Some kids are champs and can do it earlier, but aim for 8-9 as a general rule.
