Night Guards

Habitual teeth grinding, jaw clenching, and bruxing can greatly damage your teeth. Dental trauma, fractures, chips, and further damage can all be prevented with your first line of defense against this hard-to-break habit: night guards.

Protect your teeth from grinding

Bruxism is a very common problem and can have many causes - stress, anxiety, and sleep-related breathing disorders are just a few. It's not uncommon for our dentists to see the impact of bruxism on your teeth.

A night guard, or occlusal splint, is a removable dental appliance that you can wear to help reduce the grinding and clenching pressure you put on your teeth. Typically made of a combination of hard acrylic, soft polyurethane, and hard copolyester, a night guard helps prevent breakage and wear as well as protect your jaws from pressure.

Keep your partner happy
Grinding can be loud, and keep your partner awake. Avoid more pain when you get up with a night guard.

How do I know if I have bruxism?
You may have bruxism if you wake up with sore jaw muscles and a headache due to the tension on your jaw muscles as you clench and grind your teeth during sleep. Another tell-tale sign is if you have loose, worn out or cracked tooth. You may also find yourself being woken up or told by your partner about grinding your teeth while you sleep.
How safe are night guards?
Night guards are specially designed to protect your teeth. They are also custom-designed to fit snugly onto your teeth to reduce the risk of swallowing or choking. They are also made of copolyester, acrylic, and polyurethane which are made to be BPA-free and non-allergenic.
