Is a tooth extraction painful?
Our skilled and highly trained dentists can provide relatively painless tooth extraction using local anaesthetic as well as dental sedation. It is never completely comfortable, but is usually better then people expect.
What happens in wisdom tooth extraction?
Wisdom teeth can often create problems as they come out later in life. They are often removed because the tooth is still partially covered by your gums and can increase risk for tooth decay or gum disease. They may also be removed when they come in under your second molar and results to misalignment of the rest of your teeth. Sometimes, they are risky to remove and will warrant a surgeon to remove at the hospital.
What post-extraction warning signs should I watch out for?
  • Bleeding for more than 4 hours after extraction
  • Numbness in the tongue, lips, or chin for more than 4 hours after extraction
  • Nausea, vomiting, and fever (infection)
  • Chest pain
  • Excessive swelling on the extraction site
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Shortness of breath
What happens after tooth extraction?
You will need to follow post operative instructions. Expect it to be sore, expect swelling, and expect it to take a while to feel better.
